Dowry System Paragraph For JSC,SSC,HSC
The act of taking any financial assistance, material products or cash money from the bride's side by the groom's side is called dowry. It is a very deep rooted social problem in our country and society. Many innocent women fall a victim to dowry and their lives thus become miserable. Many men get married to women for the greed of their property and if women are unable to satisfy their greedy husbands, they are tortured physically or mentally by their husbands. Many times as a consequence of this the tortured wives commit suicide. Sometimes the husbands send their wives back to their fathers' home to force their parents to give cash money or ornaments. If they fail to meet their husband's demand, the wives have to stay at their fathers' home forever.
Therefore, it has become an acute problem in our society. So we should not remain satisfied with only mere laws. As it is a social evil, we must tackle it socially. Women should be recognized as the equal partner of man and strong legal measures should be taken against the erring parents who are indulging in this evil practice. Those greedy husbands should be boycotted socially. Above all, men and women must come forward to eradicate this social problem forever. The government should take some effective initiatives to prevent this heinous social curse. Firstly, women should be educated. They themselves should achieve mental and psychological strength to face the problem. Secondly, all classes of people should be aware of this dowry problem. It should be known to all that the act of taking dowry is a serious offence to the existing social environment.
